We're about 2/3 of the way up the close to 300 steps, and we're starting to see macaque monkeys everywhere - playing, eating anything they can get their hands on, especially bananas and coconuts, running up the steps, or staring at you suspiciously (or, with a strange stare thinking.....are you humans absolutely crazy for climbing almost 300 steps to see a cave?). 
This one was totally content to eating this banana in 60 seconds flat!
Then there were two more, quite content monkeys, on their turf; they were quite territorial at times. They seemed as fascinated with humans as we were with them :-)
Don't you dare try to steal my purse!
