Batu Caves
Took at excursion to the famous Batu Caves and with Hindu temple shrines, located about 13 km north of Kuala Lumpur. It is a limestone hill that is over 400 million years old, and is now a place of worship. The statue at the entrance is 42 m. high, of deity Lord Murugu. It took 300 litres of gold paint, shipped in from Thailand, to paint it. There are 272 steps leading up to the main cave with 100 m. vaulted ceilings.
The inside of the cave, with yet another smaller cave beyond the main vaulted one. Enormous!
These beautiful strung flowers are purchased outside, as offerings during worship, as is the milk.
At step 6, 266 to go!
Feels like you're walking through some giant intestines.

The smell of incense fills the air as you walk through the cave.
More limestone rock formations. Amazing to see!
You can't seem to go anywhere in Malaysia without seeing some sort of reptile, on display or simply because that's what tourists expect?? This nasty looking lizard was about 3 feet long. I decided not to include the boa constrictor, or at least it looked like one......and for you, there's a discount today to wrap it around your neck for just a few ringitts.
Statues of deities were staggered throughout the walls inside the cave.
